  • Christ Church

    This second oldest church of Northern India is situated on the Ridge. It was constructed in 1846 and its beautiful stained glass windows represent charity, patience, humility, hope, fortitude and patience. The chapel window is surrounded by a fresco that was designed by Lockwood Kipling. The church was designed by Colonel JT Boileau in 1844. This building is a very classic example of the British architecture in Shimla.

    • Situated 11 km from Shimla, and at a height of 1851 meters above sea level, the Tara Devi temple is not only visited for religious reasons, but also for its splendid location and beauty. This temple was built approximately 250 years ago for goddess Tara Devi who is believed to have been brought here from West Bengal. People go there by road often but the best way to appreciate this place and the surrounding beautiful forests and nature it to go walking. It is approximately 4 km walk through the pinewoods and green meadows where one can feel the mild chill in the air and appreciate the nature at its best.

    This hill is located at an altitude of 2445 km and is the highest point of Shimla. The view of city as well as that of the surroundings is amazing from this peak. It also has an old Hanuman temple which is very popular owing to the belief that Lord Hanuman rested at that point during his journey to the Himalayas. This temple has a 108 feet (33 meter) statue of Lord Hanuman and this statue is one of the amazing statues standing at such a high altitude. Reaching this temple needs a walk of 1 hour or one can also drive up to the temple. A large number of monkeys can be found around the temple so one needs to be carful with one's camera and food and bags.
